Over the past few weeks, I’ve spoken to many people who are finding the business environment tough right now. And let’s face it, it is tough.
I just wanted to share a few thoughts, as someone who’s been in business for nearly 27 years. I’ve seen my fair share of ups and downs—economic shifts, political uncertainty, and everything in between.
November is turning out to be my best month of this year, but that didn’t happen by accident. Back in September, I took action and rolled out a new marketing strategy. It wasn’t easy, but it paid off—I’ve brought in four new clients. It’s a reminder that we can’t wait for opportunities to come to us. We have to create them.
Even though the General Election and budget have come and gone, the uncertainty remains. Interest rates, inflation, rising costs—these challenges aren’t going away anytime soon. But here’s the thing: the economy has always found a way to adapt. And as business owners, we have to adapt too.
We’ve weathered Brexit, Covid, inflation spikes, and so much more. Sure, new challenges like higher hiring costs and tighter regulations make things harder, but we’ve made it through worse. We’ll find a way through this too, because that’s what entrepreneurs do.
Let’s be real: if your strategy for success relied on politicians swooping in to save the day, you were never on solid ground. We’re the ones creating jobs, driving growth, and building something out of nothing. That’s not going to change, no matter who’s in power.
As we wrap up 2024 and look ahead to 2025, focus on what you can control. Whether it’s improving your marketing, building new relationships, or finding better ways to serve your clients, the power to thrive is in your hands.
I hope you’ll be one of the entrepreneurs who flourishes in the months and years ahead. And if you ever want to brainstorm or share ideas, you know where to find me.
We’ve got this.
